Technical Case Study
Reclamation Project
Eastern Bye-pass, Port Harcourt, Rivers State • Completed
Operational Excellence & Execution
Client: Dredging Engineering Works (DEW) Limited
Year: 2021
Challenge
The Eastern Bye-Pass site was a low-lying, waterlogged area sitting on one of Port Harcourt’s busiest corridors — an engineering and logistical challenge.
Solution
We executed a multi-phase dredging and sand-filling program with our 18×18 Ellicott dredger, maintaining strict environmental controls and silt management throughout the operation.
Impact
The transformation was remarkable — unusable swamp land became a stable industrial platform ready for development. The project also improved urban drainage and reduced erosion, while providing work opportunities that strengthened local community relations.
